Football Betting
By Rob Mellor, Fri Dec 9th

Betting and gambling through sports has become a major concernfor our society today. It has become an issue of serious concernfor the lawmakers on how to monitor and curtail unauthorizedbetting through sports. Lawmakers have been thus penned down tomake tough new measures to crack down on corruption in sportsrelated betting. Bets are placed on individual player'sperformances, the winning team, scores in the game, etc.

Technology aids available Today you can bet on the Internet, atcasinos, through national lottery and also on cell phones.Growth of Internet betting exchanges has made sports morevulnerable to fraud and match fixing. Now betting is done withthe help of GPRS technology, which is a more faster and reliableway for account holders to place their bets. Users are chargedfor the volume of data rather than the time spent using theservice. But the police are now resorting to the use ofelectronic surveillance techniques to track down the allegedracket.

Advantages over other sports Precisely betting on a footballgame has been an extremely popular form of winning big money foryears, producing far better prize money amounts for relativelylow stake money. Today a punt on the football pools or spot theball for a quid could win you thousands upon thousands. A bet ona horse cannot produce the same odds. This is perhaps a clue tothe nature of betting on a football. Complete change in thelifestyle

for a stake that he can afford to loose and demand forno work in return is what allures an aspiring punter to footballbetting. This is the lure for many working class punters, bothmale and female regardless of their taste for football. Footballbetting is the most appropriate technique to make money forthose who want to skip the hurdles and mushroom their profitswithout taking any pains.

Thus the lawmakers have called for various sports governingbodies to have a say in the type of bets offered to punters andto make bookmakers set up "audit-trails", something the newbetting exchanges already do, to allow suspicious bettingpatterns to be traced. Lawmakers have also called for thegoverning bodies of various sports to devise common standards onwho may bet on their sport, types of bets that can be placed onthe concerned sport and what the other logistics for placing abet on their sport should be.

Tips For Football Betting
By Rob Mellor, Fri Dec 9th

How depressingly gray would be a world where everything isgoverned by a set of universal rules rigorously shapingeverything? Isn't it better if we strike back with a chance toconfound the tweed coated straight laced brigade and weave alittle exotic odds into life that are not really approved of. Itis precisely this change that inspires even the most sober of usto risk a couple of quid. But the art of a successfulcompetition is to not only create a game that has a real chanceof success for the entry stake, but allows us to lose that stakewithout significant damage to our ongoing lifestyle. Placingbets on football matches using various tips and tactics helps usachieve this motive.

In this article we shall thus discuss about the major tips andtactics that help us make the best of our money. Footballbetting is not like the other traditional casino games. Thosegames are games of chance where the house always has a built-inedge. Football betting is different in that you can choose whichgames to wager on and which games to pass on. By only betting ongames that have a positive expected return and passing on gamesthat have negative expected return, the football bettingenthusiast can thus turn the tables on the sports book and puthimself in the position to always have the edge.

Basic knowledge of sports handicapping is required Footballbetting requires a basic knowledge of sports handicapping. Youneed to understand what goes into determining

the spread and howto arrive at an educated guess at the game outcome. Footballhandicapping is part science and part art. The best footballhandicappers not only know how to analyze the statistics, theyalso have an instinct gained from years of experience. Toacquire these skills and instincts the punter needs to dohandicapping for him self using picks and recommendations fromother bettors as simply a starting point.

Handicapping is all about acquiring and using the rightinformation Handicapping is all about acquiring and using theright information. You are attempting to predict the future. Youdo that by looking at what has happened in the past, which iswhere statistics are useful, and by looking at the currentsituation, which is where the latest news is critical.

However one should always remember that even the besthandicappers are rarely right more than 58% of the time. Ourgoal should be to win more than 50% of the bets.

Chrysanthemums:
By Steve Wilcott, Fri Dec 9th

Chrysanthemums: Once a Very Serious Matter

Did you know that those lush, colorful blooms calledchrysanthemums are rooted in beliefs of human immortality andperfection? Today the "mum" graces gardens, cut flowerarrangements and even salads (yes mums taste great), but theywere taken much more seriously after T'ao Yuan Ming started itall in China around 500 A.D.

Over long periods of careful cross-pollination and selection, hedeveloped stunning varieties of the flower and when he died, hisbirthplace was renamed Chuhsien. The City of Chrysanthemums. Hisefforts had produced a legacy that would bring pleasure to thisworld for centuries.

When China imported the first chrysanthemums to Japan, thepeople there bestowed many honors upon them. The Japanese wrotelegends. To sip dew from the petals meant long life. To eat theflower meant immortality. Philosophers said that the systematicopening of the "ray" flowers symbolized both the sun and theperfection of orderly life.

By 800 A.D. the chrysanthemum had become so prestigious thatonly royal and noble families were permitted to cultivate it.Among the highest honors that could be bestowed in Japan wasadmittance to the Order of the

Chrysanthemum... a reward grantedto nobility for service to the Emperor.

In great contrast to this, the "mum" didn't make much of animpression when traders introduced it to Europe in the 1600s.But when in finally did catch on, it became one of the mostpopular blooms for both flower shops and gardens.

Today the mum comes in dozens of varieties. Fuji mums projectrays with curly ends. Spider mums have straight-ended rays.Starburst mums have forked ends, while spoon-ended mums have aloop at the end of their rays. China mums are called "standard"and "football" because of their large, round heads. Daisy-likemums are called pompons. And those forming tight little ballsare called button pomps.

Whether associated with spoons, forks or footballs, or withroyalty or immortality, "mum" is the word for beautiful gardensand long-lasting floral arrangements. When you care for them ascut flowers, try to keep their ancient beauty away from suchmodern-day contraptions as air conditioning, TV sets andheaters. Don't place them in drafts or direct sunlight. Do watchtheir water, and replace it when needed. This way, a bouquet ofmums can make your day every day for at least a week, maybe two.

Homecoming Mums - A Southern Tradition

Homecoming Mums: A Southwestern Tradition By Eileen Bergenwww.theartfulcrafter.com

Its homecoming season across the nation, but only in parts ofTexas and Oklahoma, is it also "homecoming mum season". Somestudents take homecoming mums just as seriously as thehomecoming football game itself.

For the uninitiated, a homecoming mum is an oversize mum corsagedecorated with three-foot long streamers in the school colors, bells, charms, banners, little plush animals done up in bows, sparkly letters, even Christmas tree lights. It is usually wornin the middle of the chest like a breastplate with the streamersflowing down the front of the body almost touching the ankles.

It is, in short, a fashion statement.

But homecoming mums are so much more than that. They are a signthat somebody loves you. Theyre no longer given only byboyfriends. Mums can come from friends, your mom, dad, aunt, oreven a booster boy (a boy-friend who is not your date). Anybodywho's anybody wears one, or two.

These days, a homecoming mum can cost up to $100 and weigh asmuch as 12 pounds!

Homecoming mums have become a status symbol for many junior highand high school students. Designs change every year. The moreoriginal, the better. If youre a crafter and live in Texas orOklahoma, you should be in seventh heaven. You

can makehomecoming mums for yourself or your favorite high schoolstudent at a fraction of the retail price. Even the boys aregetting into this fad. Theyve started wearing homecominggarters on their sleeves. If you craft for profit, the highmargins make homecoming mums a very attractive seasonal craft.

Homecoming Mums: The Tradition

Chrysanthemums have long been the quintessential Fall flower, soits not surprising that they quickly became associated with thequintessential Fall sport football. In the earliest picturesof college football games, you can pick out the mum corsagesworn by the young women in the stands.

Since everything grows big in Texas, its also not surprisingthat the Lone Star State is credited with developing the moreelaborate corsages known as homecoming mums. In the 1960s,these wonderful concoctions could be had there for $10. Ahh, thegood ol days.

Over the years, mums were cultivated to grow bigger and biggerand the corsages grew and grew. Today, the silk flower hasreplaced the live chrysanthemum as the centerpiece forhomecoming mums. With silk flowers, the only size limit tohomecoming mum corsages is the size of the wearer! Now ahomecoming mum can be saved as a keepsake or recycled into nextyears new unique corsage.

Planning A Football Party
By Shauna Hanus, Fri Dec 9th

When fall comes and football is in full force women around thecountry begin to use the phrase football widow. I can attest toa few Saturdays and Sundays where the TV in our home is goingall day and my husband is glued to his favorite chair.

After our first football season together where his team was15-1, I decided to start hosting football parties. This way Ican see my friends while he can watch the game.

Here are some simple steps to making Saturday and Sunday as funfor the rest of the family as it is for the men.

Pull the dinning room and kitchen table to the living room. Thisway you can set up a buffet that is in the room where the TV is.By doing this you are not creating competition between thekitchen or dinning room and the living room.

Then dig out the silver. I have found that this is a great venueto satisfy my desire to use my grandmothers silver while livinga beer and chip life style. Use the punch bowl filled with iceto chill soda and beer. Use the

serving trays for homemadehoagies and pesto pizza squares. Then serve dessert on silverplates using the silverware for this one course.

Prepare early. Have all the food cooked and served before thegames begin. This way you can sit back and socialize while yourguests are watching the game.

Serve all the food in a buffet style. Place plates and cupsalong side bottle openers and napkins. This allows guests canserve themselves.

Keep a recycle bin and garbage bin close at hand so that yourguests can find them without having to venture too far from thegame.

Then sit back and relax. When you join in the fun by planning aparty your family and friends will no longer use the dreadedphrase football widow.

Football Season - Home Stadium
By Arleen M. Kaptur, Fri Dec 9th

Football season - a nip in the air and a feeling of excitement, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of fun. But all that cheering, whether in the stadium or in your living room means that foodwill be a main requirement to keep the momentum going. Asit-down dinner is out of the question and buffet-style is asgood as it gets. Lots of finger-foods and snack-items so thatduring intermission, plates can be filled up and not a minute ofthe action will be missed. Decor for all your football partiesis simple and should not be too "busy." After all, the game willbe the highlight of the event. Choosing team colors, banners, and other paraphernalia that represents your favorite team, whoyou are rooting for, or the colors of the teams that arecurrently playing will, of course, dominate your choice of"decor." Fall flowers (mums, dried flowers, etc.) can grace yourtable as well as pumpkins and bowls of fresh apples and Indianapples. Hot foods can be kept at serving temperatures in chafingdishes or in casserole dishes over tea candles. Cold dishes suchas fresh fruit should be placed in containers of ice that holdthe serving bowl securely but keep the contents icy-cold. Agreen

tablecloth marked with white-chalk goal lines is fun anddecorative. Invitations can include an envelope with "game"tickets to your home event, as well as a printed season schedulefor the team of choice. Many banks and insurance companies havethese for free. A main course of hot, spicy chili with crackers, extra cheese, onions, and hot peppers or an on-going supply ofyour favorite "hot wings" is a sure-fire bet for success.Beverages can include a hearty punch, beer, wine, slush, carbonated beverages, and coffee. Having a variety of dips, salsas, and spread adds to the festivities. Dessert items:brownies, extra-large chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies, poundcake cubes with strawberry and chocolate sauces available, fruitcompote, rice pudding - However you set up your buffet, have funand ENJOY! Follow Your Teen's Dreams!
By Linda Gray, Fri Dec 9th

As parents, we often complain of troublesome three year olds.Three year olds are troublesome because they are developing frombabyhood to childhood.

Teenagers get the same reaction - developing from childhood toadulthood is not an easy transition, and so much communicationcan be lost along the way, especially with parents, who could, with a little effort, be the teenager's best friend....

A certain understanding of the roots of a problem, and a lot ofacceptance can bridge so many gaps and ease the changeover froma 3 to 5 year old, or indeed a 13-20 year old.

But how on earth do you find the root of the problem when youhardly know what the problem is, and your teenager certainlyisn't going to reveal it to their parents. In your dreams!

The solution is to 'not' focus on the problem - we know in ourhearts that focusing on a problem will not find the solution.Sowhat do we do? We ignore the problem, or more to the point, weput it on hold.

The most certain way to communicate with anyone is to ask themwhat their dreams are, what they want from life, how theyvisualize themselves in the future.

Get into their space:

Many teenagers will be dreaming of celebrity type status, footballer, singer, film star. And before you decide for yourteenager that these dreams are unattainable, remember someone'sgot to be doing it....

Find out what your teenager is interested in, ask them what theydream about, and go with it. Yes enjoy it with them. Let themdream and then help them on their way.Even if you're absolutelyconvinced in your heart that your teenager has no acting abilityor can't kick a football to save their lives, that's not for youto judge.

People achieve stunning things in this world, wouldn't you loveyour child to be one of them. A happy fulfilled individual ableto share his or her success with the rest of us mortals?!

How many of us grow up with firm beliefs that we aren't capableof achieving our dreams because someone at sometime told us wedidn't have what it takes?

Don't let that happen to your loved ones. Following your dreamshould be an enjoyable experience. Most 'successful' people willtell you it's not the goal but the journey that counts. You

needthe goal though to be able to begin the journey.

Find out what your teenager is dreaming about....

Don't make the cringing mistake of making their dream somethingyou're particularly interested in. Your teenager won't respectyou for this and will more than likely be embarrassed by it.

The best way to help with the dream path, is to take the stepslogically, one tiny step at a time. Sit down and discuss thepossibilities and the impossibilities. Make some notes together.Buy a homework book to note dreams and goals. Take it seriously.

Do a little research, and come up with the first step in theprocess. Maybe you could download free scripts from the internetto practise acting skills at home. Have fun acting out the filmsand learn while you play!

Is there a local football club your budding football star couldjoin and train on Saturday mornings?

Don't be afraid to NOT achieve the dreams. I was always told'you'll only get disappointed when you don't make it.' Well, hey, a little disappointment and a slight change of directionisn't nearly as devastating as never fulfilling any of yourdreams and resentfully working in a job you hate for the rest ofyour life.

Keep an open mind, we change our minds and ideas as we growolder, take on responsibilities, change our careers... It'sperfectly okay to change your goals and dreams, and this shouldbe clearly stated when you first chat about the dreams with yourteenager. As long as you don't ridicule the idea, you will finda way.

A series of events while pursuing an acting career, could soeasily lead to the individual wanting to polish up his/herwriting skills. And what's wrong with that? The contact andexperience was necessary to find the right path towardsfulfilment. A less than brilliant sporting talent may result inacting the part in the next blockbuster!

We can't predict the future, but we do all have a perfect rightto pursue our dreams and be happy in our lives. The happier weare, the more happiness we share with others, and the happierthey are!

Building Teams --you See It Everywhere
By Stephanie Tuia, Sat Dec 10th

A college football team has it. A corporation has it. Even agrowing family has it. These three organizations share a commondesire to build their prospective teams. For example, a collegefootball team continually needs to bring in new players toreplace the graduating players. A corporation builds its team tohelp it grow and meet the needs of clients. A young marriedcouple who are having children are building their own familyteam. Each of these results has a different outcome. In the end,the goal is to work together, help each other, and collectivelyreach a higher level of performance. Whatever team you arecurrently involved with, it is surprising at how muchorganization is needed to build a great team. Furthermore, thefollowing teams have their own equally important approach as tohow they successfully build their prospective teams.

First of all, lets focus on a college football team. Unlikeprofessional sports, coaches have roughly a four-year timeperiod to retain their players. After that period, an athleteseligibility is complete due to graduation. In order to fill thevoid left by graduated players, coaches rely heavily onrecruiting new players to continue building the football team.Coaches look for the best athletes who have the capability tosurpass those athletes before them, so that they can continue awinning team. Coaches face a challenging role to rebuild theirprogram, depending on their previous teams success. At the endof the football season, coaches must take the initiative tore-build their team each year to fill vacancies so their teamcan move forward again.

During college, I interned for a public relations firm, and onmy first day, my supervisor welcomed me with an e-mail thatread, Welcome to the team! At first, I felt that only organizedathletics reserved the right to use the word team. On a maturelevel, Ive realized companies stay healthy when they implementa team-like atmosphere in the workplace. Being on a team bringsout motivation

and competition in employees, and also helps themto unite, identify their roles on the team, and produce strongerresults. Ive attended many career sessions and with everyemployer Ive met, they have emphasized their desire to hirecollege graduates to join their team. Like a college sportsteam, an employer needs to recruit prospective candidates tofulfill roles in their company.

Many companies utilize employees as team members because it is afitting approach when they are competing in an industry. Forexample, popular competing organizations such as Pepsi andCoca-Cola use the team approach in the workplace. The workenvironment at Pepsi might have some teams who are directlycompeting against some rival teams at Coca-Cola. Thiscompetition and approach is healthy because it energizesemployees to become active team members and promoters for theirbrand. As mentioned before, being on a team helps members toidentify their individual roles in the company and along withmotivating them in a competing industry.

You can apply team building skills in any organization. Forexample, universities that are accepting incoming freshmen willwant candidates who will help maintain or even raise theacademic standards for greater respect and reputation of theirschool. Those freshmen are building the university team toimprove performance and image. Finally, a chairman will seek outcandidates to fulfill his board to bring in fresh ideas andinsight to his committee. The chairman is simply building histeam for support. In any circumstance, building teams will builda foundation for any organization that wants to progress andmove forward. With a purpose and vision to improve yourorganization, building your own team and improving teaminteraction will help you achieve outstanding results.

Spain A Contender In World Cup 2006
By David C Skul, Tue Dec 27th

This Friday December 9, 2005 saw football lovers round the worldclinging to the edge of their seats, ready and waiting todetermine who they would play in the group stages of the WorldCup 2006 in Germany. The ceremonial occasion contained all theanticipated fanfare and hoopla that a soccer fan would normallylink with modern sporting events. In other words, the smittensports buff was subjected to hours of mindless slobber whenawaiting for the unparalleled action to start out. Whosoeverputs these events together just can't perchance believe that thefootball fans who have tuned in to see such an event can be inany way smitten in the flaky magic exhibits and dance troopsthey force out. One can only believe that heavy numbers of hardcash in brown envelopes that changes hands in order to generatesome feeble performers their luck to be on worldwide television. The experience was produced slenderly supplementary endurablewith a handsome blonde in a revealing dress co-hosting theprogram.

When the standoff did at last came it was dragged out, with ahorde of footballing celebrities taking balls to pick out theteams. Again, a soccer fan has to accept that the presenters andcelebrities were being paid off by the second as they struggledto make this non-event into a television spectacular. Thisshould have taken no further than fifteen minutes to carrythrough, but no, soccer reporting went on for a undivided threehours! Because this is an indication of affairs to hail it is noquestion that the tourney will take an entire calendar month tofinish.

When the dust settled on the over padded proceedings in Leipzig,England came out of it rather well. Notwithstanding havingtraditional rivals for Sven's loyalty, Sweden, in the group,Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago are surely there just to makethings fair. With the top two from every group coming along tothe second round, England are favorites to proceed into thisphase with out too much trouble. Depending on the setting inboth England's group (B) and the Germany / Poland group (A) thesubstitutions perchance set up an early crunch match with thehosts. Even so this would bank on either Germany or Englandneglecting to win their various groups and an England vs. Polandsecond round match is tremendously additional probable.Providing this potential banana skin can be negotiated, theusual is that England will crash out on penalties in the quarterfinals to either Holland or Argentina. All England buffs, notwithstanding the optimism that usually rings the ballyhoo toa world cup, hold a sensation of the inevitable heroical defeatin the latter stages of the tourney. The common comments havebeen made up by the various directors, with Sven contributing inhis normal unrestrained flair.

Perhaps

the most intriguing groups are C, where Holland andArgentina are drawn jointly, and E, where Italy takes on USA,Czech Republic and Ghana. Normally ho-hum starters to tourneys, and having broke down to go on from the group stages last timearound, Italy stand a tough task onwards. Having been drawn withthe very much improving USA and a Czech side who are beginningto indicate signals of the retuning glory days with an mythicalperformance in the last Euro Championships, Italy may be thecompetitors first large casualty, with Ghana being verytremendously an unsung entity. Group C caters to an early clashof the prominent boys, where the Dutch face are good deal betterthan their ungraded position suggests, but both Holland andArgentina need be firm enough to overcome Ivory Coast and Serbia& Montenegro to win to the second round. The only question intruth is of who may top the group and in theory cast the easiersecond round match.

Historically it has been very rocky for a South American squadto win a world cup in Europe and at first site Brazils rankingas clear front-runners might seem a little generous.Notwithstanding, the game is not the equal as it has been in theyesteryear and several of the Brazilian team already frolic intop European sides in England, Spain and Italy. Theiradaptation has been years in the forming and the European mannerof soccer fused with the traditional Brazilian genius and talentmay be mouthwatering to observe. It might take a very expertface to take away their pennant from them and in Ronaldhino theyhave a player who can bend any play off on his own.

Perhaps the most fun facet of any world cup is catching the darkhorses, those minnows from commonwealths not affiliated withfootballing grandness, progress and bowl over some of thebrighter lights. This time around, there are reasonableaspersions of African commonwealths in the blend and somesurprises could come from there. It may be worth looking out forthe likes of Ivory Coast and Ghana when determining where to setthat venturesome high odds wager at the loan shark. South Korea,Maybe the surprise bundle of the previous world cup in Japan areunlikely to be capable to replicate their heroics and will notbe undervalued a second instance

College Recruiting
By Cathy Jones, Tue Jan 10th

Meanwhile quiet seems to be all that is going on the collegefootball scene most coaches are busy making phone calls andanxiously writing letters and cards in an effort to woo thenation's top high-school recruits. However coaches that do itbest are the ones that really enjoy it; those that have theability to not only evaluate talent, but also encouragerelationships with the youngsters, family members. These havebeen identified as the 10 best recruiters in college footballtoday: Eric Bieniemy, running backs coach/recruitingcoordinator, UCLA; Tom Bradley, defensive coordinator, PennState; Mack Brown, head coach, Texas; Pete Carroll, head coach,USC; Rodney Garner, assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator,Georgia; Rob Ianello, receivers coach/recruiting coordinator,Notre Dame; Urban Meyer, head coach, Florida; Ed Orgeron, headcoach, Ole Miss; Kevin Steele, executive head coach/linebackers,Florida State; Dave Wannstedt, head coach, Pittsburgh While theaforementioned Top 10 work for fairly high-profile programs, some of the most respected recruiters are the ones who face atougher sell. In addition, keep in mind that college coaches canbegin

scouting a high school player as early as his or herfreshman year. Although college coaches cannot officially call aprospective student-athlete until July 1 after their junioryear, they can immediately send letters to express theirinterest and to provide information about their programs.Basically, it is important to recognize that coaches always havetheir ears and eyes open, and if they stumble upon a youngsoccer stalwart, they will not discount them because of theirage. College coaches are always looking to develop theirprograms, so your talents as a sophomore and even as a freshmancan give them ideas about the future of their teams.

Football World Cup Kicks Off Ah! Had India Qualified
By Dr Shanker Adawal

Wait is over; football world cup has been kicked off in Germany. The destination of 32 teams which are participating for this prestigious FIFA world cup is same. Football fever is high not only in those nations which are playing in Germany rather on this planet. Why not? Football world cup is the biggest sporting event on this globe. Debate is going on everywhere. Can Brazil retain the trophy? Will Rooney be able to participate? How can stop Ronaldianho and Ronaldo? There are uncountable questions in the mind of people; gentlemens drawing rooms are buzzing with football.

Football is a unique game; it unites the different cultures, and religions bring all of them on one platform People of all walks of life forget differences and enemity. It is needless to say that football delivers the message of peace, friendship and progress on this globe.

All the answers regarding this world cup will be available with the progress of this mega events and July 9 would be the day of judgement that which will get the crown. During the world cup jubilations and depressions would be seen among the players and football fans faces.

To play football world cup is a dream for India. The question arises here what went wrong with the Indian football. There was a time when the standard of Indian was all right. India was allowed to play in the football world cup in 1950. That time Indian players used to play bare footed so they were not allowed to participate in the world cup.

The golden period of Indian football was of 50's and 60's. India sailed into the semi finals in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, apart from this India won the first Asian games gold medal. Gradually the standard of Indian football started dipping. At present India's FIFA ranking is 119.

When the 1X Asian games was held in Delhi that time the Indian football was matched up with South Korea. Today there is a gulf of difference between Indian and South Korean football.

Unfortunately politics and sports go together in India. Priyaranjandas Munshi and

KPS Gill are monopolizing the Indian football and hockey for a long period respectively. They never believe in any positive aspects. Like dictators they pass order after order without any concrete planning. In other sports too Gills and Munshis are ruining the Indian sports.

Of late All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed an Englishman Houghtan as the coach of the Indian football. The question here is that how long he will work with the Indian football. We believe that foreign coach would not change the Indian football overnight.

At present Indian football is on the last pedestal. One poor performance will give chance to all to raise fingers on the foreign coach. Other thing is how long AIFF officials will allow Houghton to remain with the Indian football. Foreign coaches want full authority but officials like Gill and Munshi want to keep the remote control with them. Gerhard Rach the German hockey coach was appointed for the Indian hockey team just before the Athens Olympics, but he could not continue because first you have to satisfy the ego of Gill then your assignment would be continued

The repair work should be started at the grassroots level then any some thing is possible. Otherwise it is the waste of money to appoint a foreign coach for our senior players. We know they are not capable to do well at the international level.

At the outset India is also very much involved in the football world cup. Most Indians are the die hard supporter of Brazil. Football is treated like religion in Brazil. Without football Brazilians life is half empty. Kolkata has been turned into the Brazilian city. Supporters could be seen in traditional Brazilian yellow jersey.

People have changed their time table. Football world is a gift for the crazy sports lovers. Indian fans could be seen in different players jersey. It is amazing that during football world cup Indians forget cricket. Had India participated in the world cup then what would have been the condition of Indian fans. One should not leave hope. We hope one day we will see India in world cup. That would be the most cherished moment for the sport lovers of India.

Former Basketball Player Now Belongs To The Nfl
By Julie Smith

A former college basketball player will be part of the San Francisco 49ers draft for this season. Onye Ibekwe who now signed a free agent contract for the NFL team, used to play basketball at Oklahoma State (OSU). He played as a Cowboy for two years. During this time he played 11 games throughout the 2002-2003 season. Ibekwe also performed at Long Beach State. Ibekwe hadn't played football since he was a sophomore because he wanted to dedicate more time and concentration to basketball. Ibekwe saw that Antonio Gates did well last season on the NFL, more specifically with the San Diego Chargers, even though Gates had never played football in college. Gates was a basketball player at Kent State before he entered the NFL draft. Inexperience didn't seem to stop Antonio Gates, who generated 81 catches in his second NFL season and 89 receptions last season.

But they are not the only ones that have changed one sport to another. Other sports swingers are Marcus Pollard who is a former Bradley basketball player and has played 11 NFL seasons as a tight end with

the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions. The St. Louis Rams Jai Lewis, who assisted George Mason to reach the 2006 Final Four and Connecticut basketball player Ed Nelson who signed with The New York Giants also belong to this list.

Ibekwe was described by the San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan as a bright, eloquent person, and a great developmental project. Everybody is expecting to see what kind of football player he turns out to be.Ibekwe is likely to perform as a tight end but he is up to play receiver or special teams or whatever position coaches want him to try.

College Football Betting
By Sebastien Veilleux

College football has been called a pure game. The players are out there on the field playing for glory and school pride. They don't get paid and many of them are hoping to get a shot at the NFL. College football has no salary cap and there's nothing stopping a school from signing many top recruits in the country. In fact, a recent report showing the top high school possible recruits revealed that a strong majority had USC and Texas on their list of college choices. Good players want to play at a good school. As a result good schools get better and poor schools get worse.

Year in and year out we hear the names of top programs like Ohio State over and over. College football is a freer game than the NFL. Coaches are not afraid to try trick plays and run the option. As a result, the points can really add up. One trap that many college football bettors that also bet the NFL fall into is handicapping the game as if it was the NFL. In the NFL, each and every player no matter how bad they seem is one of the top players in the entire football world. In college football, there are handfuls of NFL type players with scores of just average players.

In the NFL, you would never see a spread between two teams in the 40s. However, it's a common occurrence each week in college football. Yes, those favorite teams cover too. One aspect of the game that must be on any bettors mind is motivation. If the game features two bitter rivals, the game could be a hot contest no matter what the talent level. If nothing else, the worse team could remain closer to the favorite. It's important to analyze the coaches as well. What type of coach does each team have? Does the coach

like to run often? Does the coach like to fire away even when the game is won?

Here's an example. For years Air Force was a team that would run the ball 80% of the time effectively too. If they were playing a team that's soft on the run, look out. By knowing the team's game plan, you can forecast the outcome better. If Air Force were playing a poorer team, record wise, that had a really solid run defense, what would you do? If you were simply a college football handicapper that looks at wins/loses, you would most likely fail.

In the pros, teams are more apt to adapt. If the run is not working, they go to the air. However, in college football, some programs are built a certain way and they stick to their game plan for the most part. If the team is built as a running powerhouse, they are going to keep at the run, because that's all they can really do. The grand lesson here is to not look at college football like you would the NFL. While it's football, it really is not the same game.

Miami Dolphins: Ticketnest
By Ron Arthur

The Miami Dolphins-a professional American football team located in Miami, Florida Metropolitan Area. Presently, the Dolphins are members of the Eastern Division of the American Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Dolphins started playing in the American Football League as an expansion team in 1966, and connected the NFL as part of the AFL-NFL Merger. The Miami Dolphin's debut in its first Super Bowl following the 1971 season in Super Bowl VI, unfortunately they lost to Dallas Cowboys. In 1972, the Dolphins best time was the NFL's only ideal season to make history in the Super Bowl epoch; they won every regular season game, two playoff games and Super Bowl VII. In addition the team also won Super Bowl VIII; they became the first team to emerge in three consecutive Super Bowls, plus the second overall team (first was AFL/AFC team) to stood victorious in back-to-back championships. Dolphins though also appeared in Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XIX but unfortunately lost both games.Mainly, the Dolphins have been coached by Don Shula. Five distinct Hall of Fame memebers including running back Larry Csonka and quarterback Bob Griese played during the period of 1970s. For the era of 1980s and 1990s quarterback Dan Marino remained the most productive passer in NFL history, treading numerous league passing records. He guided the Dolphins to various playoff emergence and also Super Bowl XIX.One of the most encouraging comments given to the dolphins was really a mirror to the team's hard work. "The dolphin is one of the fastest and smartest creatures of the sea," Joe Robbie said in announcing the team name on October 8, 1965. "Dolphins can attack and kill a shark or a whale. Sailors say bad luck will come to anyone who harms one of them." The name of the team has a particular significance. There was a contest held to discover the name of the new Miami franchise for the American Football League in 1965. 19,843 Entries submitted surpassed 19,843 notes suggesting more than thousand different names. After screening a dozen finalists were chosen by a seven-member committee made up of the local media, names thought included the Mariners, Marauders, Mustangs, Missiles, Moons, Sharks, and Suns. But finally the winning name, "Dolphins," was suggested by 622 entrants. Lucky Mrs. Roberta Swanson of West Miami was successful in winning lifetime passes to Dolphin games as her nickname entry successfully prophesized the winner and score of the 1965 football game between Notre Dame and the University of Miami, it was a scoreless tie.Just about few minor changes over the years, the logo and uniforms of the team fundamentally remained the same. The logo is a dolphin wearing a helmet jumping in front of an orange sunburst. Whereas the uniform design involves white helmets, orange trim, and either

white or aqua green jerseys. Dolphins also sometimes wear either white or aqua green pants. On the team's logo debuted that was in 1966, the head of the dolphin was positioned near the center of the sunburst. But the dolphin's body was centered on the sunburst in 1974. Because of the reason that so many times team's name and mascot, the Dolphins are referred to as "The fish," though of course the fact remains there that real dolphins are actually mammals, not fish. The addition of dark blue was done to the logo and uniforms as an accent color in 1997. The hash marks were removed around the perimeters of logo's sunburst, plus the dolphin's features were emphasized. Miami falls under one of the three NFL (http://www.ticketnest.com/NFL.php) teams that chiefly wear their white jerseys at home (the others two are the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins), while they will dress in their aqua jerseys during the night games. The Dolphins have started wearing a substitute orange jersey once each season for home Monday Night Football contests, since the season of 2003. They are 2-0 in games dressed in the alternate jersey (each of which was comebacks against the Washington Redskins in 2003 and against ultimate Super Bowl champs and Division-rivals the New England Patriots in 2004). The Dolphins were not dressed in orange jerseys during the 2005 season as they had no night games.New coach Nick Saban did not have the Dolphins wear the aqua pants with the white jerseys, as an alternative chosing the all-white outfit in 2005. Earlier to Saban's advent, the team conventionally wore all-white at home moreover aqua pants with white jerseys on the road under former coach Dave Wannstedt. The Dolphins have worn an all-aqua combination for prime-time games only on two particular events, that is defeating the Chicago Bears in 2002 and the Cleveland Browns in 2004. Entertainment Issues: Buying Concert Tickets
By David Yuri
Making a perfect gift isn't easy. However, anyone knows that offering someone a good time, entertaining on a special occasion is the best way to create a wonderful memory. If there is a great concert coming up or a football match you friend would appreciate to see, then a couple of tickets for the new event can be a perfect choice for a present. Your efforts to buy concert tickets or tickets will be much appreciated and the day you'll be spending together will surely be unforgettable. The live performance, the location, the large number of beating hearts pumping up adrenaline for the same cause, the noise, the enthusiasm of the public that participates to such hot and breath taking events are reasons why so many make huge efforts to get concert tickets or football tickets. You strive to pay good money for a couple of tickets to allow yourself to make a pleasant surprise to someone dear. You sometimes discover that some opportunities for entertainment are simply inaccessible because queuing isn't enough. Concert tickets, football tickets or theater tickets can sell out before you get a chance to buy. The popular events sometimes require taking time off from work to stand in never ending lines. Not everyone affords wasting time, even if money is not an issue (or the other way around). To make matters worse, the desperation sometimes pushes people to counterfeit their concert tickets or football tickets and try their luck. If you do this, you risk public humiliation by getting kicked out from the event and spoiling the fun of those who are with you (and who perhaps don't know about the fake tickets). You may also receive a fine which won't make anything better. However, you can get to see your idols without making unnecessary mistakes and just paying a little extra for concert tickets by buying them online. If you don't want your friend to miss out on his gift you have to benefit from alternatives to buying concert tickets or football tickets and the Internet is here for this. To make things easier for those with busy lifestyles, many ticket brokers have launched websites which offer to help you make the best of your time. You can now buy or book difficult to find concert tickets or football tickets, choose the best selections and get the least expensive ones for comparable seats. Of course, the websites will charge an extra fee for their services, but you won't need to waste your precious time and energy. You might ask yourself why concert tickets are more expensive if bought online. The Internet isn't the primary market, but a secondary one, thus the chance to attend an important event is given to you after wasting the first opportunity to book the concert tickets in advance. This is a luxury that has to be paid, but the advantages are numerous. Just think about it: there is the possibility that you did not know about the event or found out too late to book concert tickets. You are given a second chance. If you've suddenly decided to buy the concert tickets as a surprise for someone, then you can think this through to be certain if this is a good gift or not without hurrying because the concert tickets are rapidly selling out. These are the advantages of buying online concert tickets or football tickets and one thing is for sure: you won't risk anything this way.Buying football tickets is just as tricky as buying concert tickets because usually the fans crowd in as soon as they are available. But can you blame them? If for some entertainment means buying concert tickets to hear Eric Clapton, Dixie Chicks, Rolling Stones or the Black Eyed Peas, for others a hot pick consists in something else. This is why some would like to buy NFL or NCAA football tickets and enjoy the competition between two famous teams, among which one is the favorite. But the entertainment doesnt stop here. Sport fans can experience baseball, basketball or hockey matches or for those more sophisticated, your gift can be the chance to view a theater show. However, in any of these cases, whether the problem resides in buying concert tickets or football tickets when you want, the solution is to buy online. If you want to be sure you get to participate in a certain event or aim to have good seats, then buying online Football tickets or Concert Tickets is the best choice. You can be a little late and still get what you want

Mlb Betting
By Sebastien Veilleux

Betting on MLB baseball is both fun and profitable. The purpose of this article is to explain the basics of baseball betting. We will talk about the line as well as some points to help you win more when betting on the MLB baseball. Baseball is down on the list as far as betting volume goes. For whatever reason, the bulk of sports betting is done on football and basketball. MLB baseball is a great sports betting option. Each season is filled with a plethora of opportunities.

Baseball betting revolves around the money line. Unlike football and basketball, which use spreads, in baseball sports bettors simply need to pick the real game winner of each event. The spread is worked in the money that must be laid or taken for each side. For example, let's say that the New York Yankees are playing the Kansas City Royals. Let's assume that the Yankees are having a great year and the Royals not so much. You might see a line like this: Yankees -300 Royals +270.

In our example, you would need to wager $3.00 on the Yankees for every one dollar you wanted back should they win. Unlike football and basketball, the Yankees don't need to win by a certain amount. They simply need to win the game. Bettors of the Royals in our example would receive $2.70 for every $1.00 they wagered. You see, the closer the two teams are to each other, skill wise, generally the closer the game is on the money line. Let's look at another example.

This time we will look at a game against two first place teams Team X and Team Y. All things being equal, the line might be something like Team

Y -110 Team X +105. You see, the closer the teams are, the closer the line is to $1.00. It's important to remember that the job of the spread is not to predict outcomes, but to split public opinion. I bring this up, because there are gifts out there. For example, this season there was a game involving the Royals they were the worst team in baseball at the time.

The Royals were playing a sub-.500 team, which means that team has lost more games than it won. The game should have been somewhat close on the money line, but linemakers knew they could not split the public with a close line. As a result, the line was set at +260 for the Royals. This happened three games in a row and the Royals won 2 of those 3. This example clearly shows that the job of the line is to split the public and not predict games.

Here's a quick tip. When you are deciding who will win a MLB baseball game, look at the whole team. Too often losing sports bettors simply look at the starting pitching.
